Day 11: Kelowna to Vernon 62 km - We break for Markets and Thrift shops

We started the day by visiting the Farmers Market in Kelowna. It was filled with wonderful crafts and beautiful produce. Sadly, on a bike you have limited space to carry stuff, so we chose our special treats and ate the rest there.

The highway out of Kelowna did not have a bike lane so we tried to share the road with our car friends...some were more friendly than others. Kathy had a close run in with a boat on a trailer that passed too close. After that, we hit the rail trail for the rest of the ride.

There is now an unofficially opened rail trail from Winfield to Vernon. We traveled along the lake and were surprised to find a thrift shop just off the trail. Since it was $1, a few new outfits were purchased. The United Church shop was our "message from God" to stop

We ended our day, with our hosts Jean, Christine and Duane. We are grateful for their hospitality.
