Day 54: Val d'Or to Mont-Laurier, QC 72 km - Rush hour

Our ride today took us through La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve. We shared the space with lots of cars and boats.

La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve is one of the largest reserves in the province of Québec, covering 12,589 square kilometres of contiguous land and lake area. It is named after Pierre Gaultier de Varennes, sieur de La Vérendrye, a French-Canadian explorer.

Along the way, we saw some sandhill cranes.
